Los que estén esperando violencia, sexo y vulgaridad se sentirán terriblemente decepcionados.Sólo los que conocen el valor de lo que de verdad importa en la vida podrán entender el mensaje de este libro de tapas color ámbar. Vivimos en un mundo tecnológico en el que damos todo por hecho. Somos seres sin evolucionar, inmaduros; hemos olvidado el placer de buscar respuestas por el mero gusto de hacerlo. Calpurnia, una niña de 11 años, con la ayuda de su abuelo, nos llevará por un camino sin retorno al final del cual veremos la vida con otros ojos.
review 2: This is a wonderful book about a girl who is curious about the world around us. The setting of this book takes pl... moreace in Texas during the summer of 1899. The author does a great job describing key details like the heat, the large families, and the scenery of the natural world. Throughout the chapters, the girl becomes close to her grandfather who acts as her main inspiration while she documents species that live around her land. This book was very interesting because of the biological facts that are talked about between the girl and her grandfather, but sometimes the topics clashed with certain religious beliefs. I thought this is a wonderful book but there is a reason to perhaps show caution in referring it to all students. less
