review 1: Very sweet, well written story. I loved how David evolved. What started out as a sweet first love romance turned into a deep, serious situation and a great insight on action and consequences. Some people are quick to hate David's father for what he did, but I understand it. As a lonely single father he did what he was told and honestly believed would help. Sure, the place was a joke but it actually DID help David. He left a more confident, happy kid with friends! Poor Connor had a sad life but he did the best he could, and he was a responsible and caring guy. I'm glad there was a HEA even if it was too good to be true. The secondary characters were funny (Sabrina!) and it moved steadily enough. The one thing missing- condoms! No mention at all, & Connor had been experience... mored for years. Definately recommend, especially to teens.
review 2: I bought this because I had read everything else by this author and I needed to complete my collection:). Whilst I enjoyed it, I didn't like it as much as the author's other books, mainly because of the situation between David and his father towards the end of the book. I felt there was an important discussion missing where they needed to talk through his Dad's motivations and come to some peace over what happened. This didn't happen and so I felt David too easily forgave his father's actions. There wasn't even the slightest bit of lingering resentment. This clouded my feelings at the end of the book. It was still a really good read though and I loved David and Connor's relationship. less
