review 1: Setting: Harmony – off world settlement, without portal back to earth, humans settling over ruins of a long past civilization based in crystals; Frequency City – ruins and tunnels with vortex – another of energy and mirror crystals; physic hospital room; dream state; ballroom; Arcane FC office; Theme: new to leadership, feeling one’s way – defending against evil; old curse, new love – which will overcome?; first time we hear of Jones and Jones and the Arcane Society as being in Harmony – they have a low profile in Harmony, though they have preserved as much as possible of what was brought over from earth.Characters:Burning Lamp with midnight crystal: two fold – Adam’s talents are evolving, he is having nightmares; tunnels found an energy center, of crysta... morel mirrors – but some are ‘off’ and needing resetting – harmonics found in lamp; need lamp to aid Adam and to reset mirrors; the one held at the Arcane vaults is stolen;Adam Winters: recently chosen head of Ghost Hunter Guild; 2nd level of his talent – with some of the nightmare/lack of sleep of predecessors, but not as bad; his team found the mirror/power center, and realized something off – and he realizes that the Burning Lamp of his family of similar harmonics, so is looking it; someone is out to kill him;Marlowe Jones: recently chosen head of J & J Arcane; dreamlight reader talent (not normal chaos talent of other heads); agrees to meet with Adam, at a neutral location;Gibson: her dustbunny; assists Marlowe in physic healings; helping guide / protect her in ‘healing’ the crystal mirror; has dustbunny friends over after Marlowe goes to sleep, and loves those energy bars;Vicki Winters: Adam’s sister; accompanied him to explore the mirrors, got lost and is in a psychic coma; Marlowe and Gibson able to reach her and bring her back (with aid of lamp?);Hubert O’Connor & Drake: senators in the FC guild; exploiting their power; Drake expected to be next guild boss, and they are out to depose Adam; Fortner’s minions;Elliot Fortner: ex-head of FC Guild; don’t remember why no longer head; crooked, Cerberus – has crossed over to insanity as he is playing with enhancing crystals; fathered triplets, but manipulated records so no one knew he was their father; secretly provides them copies of Nocholas Winter’s old journal about infusing crystals in a way that amplified other’s powers – but journal of earlier model, with bad side effects to both creator and user of the crystals – leading to death; out to kill Adam;Charlotte / Tucker / Keith Dean: triplets; Fortner’s children – though they don’t know their father; mother died when young, raised in foster care; con people; she a dreamlight reader, Tucker a chameleon, and Keith a crystal expert; Keith is dying, and Tucker gets engaged to Marlowe so as to have access to the vaults, and to Burning Lamp – which they believe Charlotte can use to heal Tucker; lamp was a fake, they kidnap Marlowe, who then voluntarily helps heal Tucker (with Adam’s help)… and then they help her out when Fortner drugs and leaves her in the tunnels; possible future employees of J&J Investigations;Summary: Adam and Marlowe join together – complement one another, fall in love, restore the crystal mirror power together, ignite the midnight crystal, overcome Nicholas’ hypnotic – beyond the grave demand that the one who ignited the midnight crystal destroy all of the Joneses, defeat the insane ex-guild boss, and live happily ever after…
review 2: I didn't realize that this book was a merger with her Harmony series and I was a bit confused at first. I appreciate that she is joining her series, but because I haven't read any of the Harmony series before I probably didn't enjoy it as much as someone who has already had background on the story. I felt like I was missing some of what was going on and I assume that it was parts of previous books. I found this book was also a bit too much like the other two in this trilogy. It really seems like the couples in each book had the exact same conversation about the man's talents growing. I am a bit curious to see if I got each book and looked at them together if they would have all the same wording during those scenes. All this together kind of killed the book a bit for me. I'm just hoping that the next books are a little more original. less

This third book in the Dreamlight Trilogy is the best. Of course, I like books about the future.
