Animal Man Vol. II
review 1: Animal Man is something of a B-list superhero, trying to make ends meet with a wife and two children. He was recently in an independent film, but isn't sure it'll make him much money, and his ability to summon any animal skill (charging with the strength of a rhino, switching to the weight of a bumblebee so he doesn't creak the floorboards and wake his children) seems more suited to fairly low-key heroics. But something called The Rot has invaded the world, and has a particular interest in his family. Wild, memorable, even grotesque art and an engaging story make this one a winner.
review 2: This wasn't at all what I was expecting (I had never really head of Animal Man before, but this was offered on one of Amazon's Kindle deals and was hyped to be one of the n
... moreew of the New 52, and I already loved some of the new stories). While it's still set in the same world/universe as the JLA, it's way more sci-fi. It felt a lot like Gaiman's Sandman vol 1 (only volume I've read of it, also because it was so "weird"). Can't say I'm overly desirous to continue reading the series, I may pick up Sandman again to see if I can get any further with it, being as highly acclaimed as it is. less

Surprisingly good, but must be read with Snyder's Swamp Thing to get the whole story arc.
