review 1: Jeff Lemire.... Frankenstein... over the top ridiculous, mad scientist ideas. You figured this would be a slam dunk... and yet it was hard to get through. I am not 100% sure what it was. Maybe the threat in this book seemed so generic that the heroes could have been fighting Tennis Balls attached to sticks, and it would have the same sense of suspense. Frankenstein has certainly become one of the more fun modern DC characters, and it was cool to have the creature commandos back, but this book was a lot like modern blockbusters, a lot of bang, but really no feeling.
review 2: Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. is a great idea that isn't quite executed to the best it could be. A monster team of typical monsters (vampires, werewolves, etc.) band together with Agent
... more Frankenstein to fight evil forces. All of the enemies seem to be in hordes, as opposed to one big bad guy. I didn't really like this as a story, but the full blown double page spreads were kind of cool. I really wanted this to be more than it was, but it didn't really live up to its monster name. less

Addition of Ray Palmer as a SHADE agent was a surprise.
