review 1: This is the story of two hired goons transporting a werewolf across Florida. There was lots of fighting, mutilation, death and worse in this tale. None of which I gave a shit about. I didn't care much for the plot of the story but I just loved the goons. Two thugs named George and Lou. The banter between them was great. They were intelligent and somewhat witty, and they made this story. It could have been a story about almost anything but I would have liked it just for these guys. I hope Strand wrote another story with these guys as I'd read it in a heartbeat. I must go do a little research.
review 2: Although I zipped right through this book it was not really that great. It was written in a style that is sort of like a Quentin Tarantino movie with sma... morert sassy dialogue filled with innuendoes and poor grammar like people actually speak I suppose. The book was full of action and choppy dialogue that made it move along quickly but it was not really that memorable a story. I don't recall ever reading a story like this one, don't get me wrong, it was a clever idea, it just was not that great a read. Oh well, live and learn. less
