review 1: This series just keeps getting better and better!!!! Cady and Lon are back into the thick of the drama and mystery of the demon world. Cady knows just how special she really is and knows keeping her real identity a secret is even more crucial than before. She’s working on controlling her budding new abilities while balancing out the new family life she has with Lon and Jupe. When an unsolved mystery of missing children comes back to haunt them, Cady and Lon must stop at nothing to find the kidnapper and protect Jupe. Cady and Lon’s relationship continues to blossom, but doesn’t take up too much on screen camera time as it did in the first. While I do love a good love story, the Arcadia Bell series is purely UF. I do love a good PNR, but when the story is written as m... moreagically as Bennett has created in this series. Who needs steamy romance when the story is this good anyway!!! Bennett also has the ability to create these amazing one line zingers. I highlighted so many throughout reading this novel that I can’t share them all here, but this one stuck out to me. “Oh, really? Is that why he’s hot and bothered for Arcadia here?” Kar Yee tossed an accusatory glance my way. She was well aware that honesty wasn’t one of my strong suits. “Probably,” Jupe confirmed. “My dad says he likes her so much that if she kicked him in the balls, he’d just thank her.”Bennett continues to deliver on her new debut series. It’s imaginative and enticing. Its one of those books that will suck you in and leave you pissed its over too soon. On to the next book, a novella, entitled, Leashing the Tempest.
review 2: The first book in this series hooked me and this one has me sold on this series. I love these characters and the author’s style of writing just makes reading this book so easy and makes you want to continue to learn more about these characters. We get back into this by meeting Cady who is getting ready for the Halloween season and possibly having to deal with more than just a busy bar. I have to say I have grown to love these characters and they are so much fun to read about. Cady soon learns that her help is needed to help figure out who is kidnapping kids in her area. I loved that this time we got to see even more of Jupe. He is such a cute character and says the funniest things that make me laugh out loud and shake my head. I am starting to love the bond that has formed between him and Cady also and the way they sometimes band together against poor Lon. He really didn’t stand a chance with the two of them.I will say that I loved this book more than the first one because we really got to see Cady use more of her powers and get used to learning more about what she could do. As this story continues we plenty of action and Cady makes an enemy along the way that I think is going to be a major problem for her as this story continues. Overall this story was an entertaining read and I can’t wait for the next one in the series. This book was full of action and you got to learn more about Cady and Lon’s past and there is also a revelation about Jupe that will leave you wondering what will happen next with him. I have to say that I am hoping that Jupe gets his own book soon because he is becoming one of my favorite characters. I think fans of this series will love this one and be left wanting to see what will happen next as there are a few things that happen at the end of this one that leave some questions lingering out there. less
