review 1: Wowza. To be honest, I was really hesitant to read this book (I'm not really good with painful emotional situations) and I have to say that I have some mixed feelings about this book. I honestly think this is a book I'll read rather scarcely, maybe once in a while; I was rather intrigued about what had happened between Isabella and Mac to make them so cold towards each other. Isabella's a great character and so is Mac and what happened between them completely broke my heart. Isabella's a mostly agreeable character but in one point she became totally malicious and hateful towards Mac in a way that made me completely want to smack her (but also Mac) because she kept throwing back the same argument in poor Mac's face. This was a nice read, and I hope I will like the next book... more even better. /3.5 stars/
review 2: More like 4.5. What I loved best about the book is the history the two characters already share at the start of the novel. They are complex people, a heroine who loved her husband dearly but had to leave him if she didn't want to lose her sanity. We basically get the story of how they both come together again, and it's lovely. I may have teared up at the end (which doesn't happen very often in historical romances for me). less
