review 1: I gave this book three stars because I really liked it but I did have one issue with it. I didn't like how the author glamorized pain and agony and made it out to be something sexy and cool. I felt like it was encouraging people to harm themselves to get excitement and pleasure. However, I did like the story and thought it was new and interesting, nothing I had seen before. A girl who has been struck by lightning countless times and craves it. The story develops and there is a crazy televangelist prophet and many more people who have been struck by lightning. Unfortunately many plot points were predictable early on but it was still an entertaining book.
review 2: This book is the culmination of every cliched YA book ever published. There was not a single thing
... morethat came close to even remotely surprising me. So many flaws, so little time (did all of these events seriously take place across three days? So sick of compressed time lines in YA...) And the end? The epitome of cliche. This book is everything wrong with YA at the moment. Also, what's with the religion bashing? Halo might've shoved religion down our throats, but this was just as bad. 2 stars only because it got me reading again after a long break due to school (although, I was only reading it like one would view a car crash...) less
