review 1: For anyone who has read the Diamonds and Dugouts series by Jennifer Seasons then you probably found yourself reading this just because you wanted more. More of the characters, more of the stories and most of all...to find out if Drake Paulson, the ten foot gargantuan Afro wearing, potty mouthed ballplayer from the Denver Rush you've come to love throughout the books. If you're like me then that's the main reason you grabbed this book. Drake Paulson was a character that you couldn't NOT pay attention to while reading the other books in the series. He was described as tall and ugly with a thick curly afro. A guy who wears Hawaiian shirts unbuttoned too far and chest hair puffed out constantly. Despite the fact that he was ugly as all hell, the guy got serious game. He could... more pick up a woman faster than a speeding bullet. But apparently that didn't satisfy him anymore and after seeing all his other teammates settling down and finding love, Drake wanted it too. Which he finds in his quirky, nerdy and feisty neighbor Bertie. Let me say that I did enjoy Drake and Bertie's little novella and I was happy he finally found someone but Drake was one of those underdog characters I just needed MORE from. More story, more page time just MORE! I wanted to get into his life a little deeper and even though his back-story is explained a little bit I just got greedy I guess. I felt like Bertie and Drake had potential to have something incredibly awkward and funny and I would have loved to see how his teammates and their women would have reacted to Bertie. WHo knows, maybe we'll get another book in the series and that will happen. Maybe it won't but for what it's worth this was a great little addition to the series and since there are two other stories to enjoy from different authors then you can't go wrong!
review 2: So I loved all three of the novellas in this combination of stories. The first one was full of the past history we love when two people come together, people that went to school together and separated on less than good points. Loved the ending, it was very romantic :)The second one is also apart of a series, I believe. I haven't read the series yet but I intend to now! ITs a classic, invisible girl decides to move so she can have a shot at not being invisible, and the way she goes about it is definitely cute :) lolthe third and final one is by far my favorite. I loved the back story, they both have crushes on each other, his in a more round about way. but the way he made her believe him was priceless!!! Also apart of a series, and i'm definitely going to read that one too. All three had passable love scenes, the first not so much, more like a make out session with it skipping over it and going to the morning after. The second and third had only one scene each, with others mentioned but not detailed.Great romantic reads for Valentines day! less
