review 1: Sarah's Review:Thank you once again to Tasty Book Tours and Jennifer Ryan for the opportunity to read about the McBrides! I have been a fan since Brody's book and looked forward to reading Dylan's story for a while. We got to see bits and pieces of Dylan in Brody's and Owen's books. We also heard the speculations about Jessie in previous books as well. I was outside with my son and his friend when they were playing when I started reading this and I couldn't put it down until I finished it.I love this story told us what happened to Jessie after she went missing. Her experiences and her emotions were something that caused a real emotional reaction from me. There were things that are described in this book that could be trigger inducing if you have been involved in a d... moreomestic violence relationship or if you have experienced that death of a baby. Due to my profession as a social worker, I feel that I needed to included that warning because I wouldn't want someone to have a negative reaction as a result of reading this book. I believe that Jennifer Ryan did an amazing job at treating both subjects with respect and made it real with the emotions and reactions. As far as Dylan is concerned, I wish I could find a guy like Dylan. There are so many things about Dylan that make him more attractive in my eyes than any other character I have read lately. Dylan chose his profession as a cop because of what he thought happened to Jessie. He adopted Will because of Jessie and her situation.Watching the two of these character reconnect and find out what both of them lost during the 8 years they were apart was heartbreaking but when they finally worked through the past, they became even more powerful as a couple.
review 2: Caitlyn4 STARSReview copy provided for an honest reviewIn Dylan’s Redemption we finally get the story of the elusive bad boy sheriff Dylan McBride.Eight years after Jessie Thompson disappears she’s ready to return to Fallbrook to face her demons and move on from a life that brought her nothing but misery. But not everyone is ready for Jessie’s return and picking up the pieces isn’t going to be a walk in the park. Years of heartbreak and feeling broken has worn Jessie down, but Dylan isn’t going to give up without a fight. But are some secrets too much to handle? After reading the previous books in the McBride series I knew that Dylan’s Redemption was going to throw me for a loop. Dylan and Jessie’s story was so emotional and heartfelt that at times I truly felt like I was experiencing everything that Jessie was going through. More than that this book truly was about redemption and I loved how Dylan fought with everything he had to win back Jessie’s trust.I felt that the story flowed extremely well and that the prologue doesn’t give too much of the story away. While the book is told from both Dylan and Jessie’s POV you get to learn most of Jessie’s secrets when Dylan does. Overall I really enjoyed this book and even when I found myself tearing up in spots I continued to read on because I couldn’t bring myself to put the back down. less
