review 1: It was a really enjoyable read, though not as delightful as the first book about the Cupcake Cafe. I found it nice to see the characters develop into another direction, and then come back to themselves in the end. Issy is still the same wonderful person she always was, though slightly more worried. I did find it a pity that the recipes were less incorporated in the story, and the overall flow was less magical than in the first story. I did however still really enjoy reading this second book, and I am looking forward to the next!
review 2: Have not read the first book but as a stand alone book I found it quite lovely. The plot was very interested, a bit slow at first but you definitely got sucked into the story as you get introduced or reacquainted to all the ch... morearacters and enter the homey and nostalgic setting of the Cupcake Cafe. It was a nice holiday read that really got me into the Christmas mood. The ending didn't necessarily satisfy me but it was still a good book nonetheless and I really recommend it! :) Definitely makes me want to go pick up the first book for sure! less
