review 1: This book has no words in it but the pictures take the place for the lack of text. It is extremely easy to follow the story line of this book, which is very important is a wordless picture book. The emotions of the animals are visible in their faces and body language, and the author makes the animals look realistic which catches the reader’s eye. The backgrounds of each page depicted the environment the animals were in, and made readers really focus on the illustrations. In the book, the theme of helping others is present. A classroom activity that could be done related to this book could be to have students write about a time that they helped someone else do something, and have them share it with the class.Genre: FictionFormat: Wordless picture bookReading Level: Beginni... moreng Theme/Topic: Helping others Gender: AllRace: AllSocioeconomic Status: AllPinkey, J. review 2: The Lion and the Mouse” by Jerry Pinkny was a sad, but happy story. There is a lion and a mouse in the wild, they are friends and help each other when needed. The lion was walking one day was picked up by a trap. The little mouse saw and climb up and ate through the rope that was holding the lion and set the lion free. The illustration was amazing! There were very little words and the way the lion and the mouse were drew told the story. The colors are the right tone when it came to the plot. Younge children would enjoy this book because they can make up their own story. This book will be useful in the class to teach kids to use their imagination because there is not any words in the book. Herman, G., & McCue, L. (1998). The lion and the mouse.
