review 1: Where to start? I loved this book! The first 20 or so pages were pretty dull and it took a little while for me to get into it, but I do have to see that I was pleasantly surprised. This book is about a young girl who gets hooked on meth. As a reader, you see flashbacks of her painful past and the story of recovery is quite addicting to read. I think books/stories about drug use is very intriguing…this book made me feel like I was in the story and made me want to help the main character, Laurel. Anyway, it was a quick read, and only took me a few hours to finish (this is no surprise since the reading level is pretty low). Nonetheless very good and you could just feel the emotions coming out of it— something that is important to me as a reader.

... morey Pinkneys' rendition of the luliby "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is a beautiful book. Its strength, lies on the illustrations. The colors are soft but contrasting and the images are so vivid and heart-warming it is hard to focus on the words. The fact that we know the words to the song is a very strong point for the story. While studying the images, I found that each one made me unconsiously sing in my head that luliby we were all sung when we were children. The little mouse, travels the land adn sea in order to discover just what the star is and where it is. In our own time and our own way, we have all set out in a similar search to find that star. less
