review 1: The book shows a story of two very different characters, one very small and one very big. When the lion is in trouble, it is the mouse, even though he is very small, who saves the lion and sets him free. The illustration or this book was very detailed and, what I thought to be, very well drawn and colored. The illustrations show both people and animals and the illustrator does a very good job at depicting an actual jungle and environment for the animals shown. The only sounds in the book are that of animal noises and noises such as “scratch, squeak, and roar”. What i did not enjoy about this book was it was mainly all pictures and sounds. Personally I really like books that already have a story with them. However, this book would be good to use in a classroom to have y... moreour students find their won story within the pictures. review 2: The Lion and The Mouse is about a mouse who is captured and going to be eaten by a lion. However the mouse convinces the lion that he is not a worthy prey since he is so small, and the lion agrees to let the mouse go. Later the mouse hears roars from the lion and finds that he has been netted by hunters. Since the lion set him free the mouse feels he should help the lion. The mouse chews through the ropes and sets the lion free from the hunters. I feel this book had a very good meaning behind it and I personally enjoyed it a lot. It showed that being kind and doing great thing has its pay offs, and also no one is too small to do big things. The book had incredible illustrations. They were very detailed and very well done. In all it was a great book. less
