review 1: I wanted to like this book. I really did. But oh my gosh, what the heck did I just read? I haven't been so annoyed with a book in a while. It was predictable, there were WAY too coincidences which didn't make sense, and that second last chapter made me so angry, I couldn't even finish the book. Rusty was like a caricature of a character. He kept saying these stock redneck phrases, and he didn't sound like a real person. Sadly, as good as the first chapter was, I didn't like any of the characters at the end of the story (as much as it pains me to say it, even Finn, the brother who had passed away!!!), which is pretty much the worst thing for an author to achieve. It just really didn't make sense to me. Finn's motivations are revealed in the end and that, plus other decision... mores, seem completely at odds with what he'd been portrayed to be from the beginning. I didn't understand the story, the characters/their development (or lack thereof), or any of it. Just overall, not a fan.
review 2: In my opinion this book is worth 4.5 stars. Honestly this was one of those books that you read the plot and you get exited. As I started reading and going through the pages I was kind of like "oh I guess this is an okay kind of book" Again, if I'm honest I didn't like Rusty one of the main characters I really thought that he didn't deserve Honor's patience. He had a rude, annoying, jerk personality and it pissed me off because, Honor shouldn't have to deal with his crap. However as I started reading more and more I found out that I judged him to harshly he was a real sweet guy and he had a kind heart he just had been through a lot and was a little lost. The turn in events also made me enjoy this book even more so, if I were to rate this book I would say 4.5 maybe even 4.7. But not quite 5. All in all, I enjoyed this book and if Jessi Kirby publishes more books I wont hesitate to read them :) less

Good, but I wish there were more mushy, feels-y Honor/Rusty scenes.
