review 1: Some books just get you and this was one of them. It wasn't obvious, it was very subtle and probably many won't agree. In my opinion, it was a beautiful story about transition of rich, spoiled brat to someone who values more than money, designer clothes/shoes and paryting. It was also a sort of psychological study about why she behaved the way she behaved - neglected by her father, brough up by servants and hired "help"... I believe that that is the way many rich parents treat their children and thus turnimg them into sort of monsters who think that they can buy anything and anyone...The writing was very good and I cried a lot, especially in the scenes between Lexi and her father.
review 2: This book was somewhere along, somewhere above my expectations of an ov
... moreer the top adolescent superficial crisis. When I started the book I was very iffy about whether or not to continue because although it looked LKKE a fun light read, I wasn't sure if I could handle the bitchy spoiled narrator and protagonist for another 300 pages. But, like I said, this book went above my expectations. It was clear cut and instead of going overboard with a lot of backstory and complicated emotional past and an array of issues and acting out, it cut right to the chase and addressed the girl in need of a parent who needs to learn the value of her life. It's one of the most beautiful transformations I've read - I'm usually a sucker for physical transformations into beauty queens but this was so much mkte, an entire, all-around transformation into a respectable human who gives a shit and finally figures out and sorts out her emotional mess and bratty attitude. Also, her and Luke were just perfect and absolutely adorable. This book just improved my mood in its shallow pleasures and simple directness. Definitely worth a read! :) less
