review 1: I did not get the boxed set but bought the books individually. I enjoyed the interaction between the dragons and Creel. It felt real. I also loved the way the dragons kept collecting things despite the problems they had getting their desired objects. Most of all, I loved the way the bad guys were not just bad per definition, they had reasons for the way they acted, and the reasons made sense. The same was true for the heroine. Creel was not simply "the girl who saved the day", she was a real person with good and bad in a very well balanced mix. I was really happy that she was a strong heroine. She's a good role model for girls.Not surprisingly, I found the romance between the dragons more entertaining than the blossoming romance between Creel and Luka. Keeping in mind that... more this is a book for children, that's probably intentional (I've got two girls in the target group, so for them, the romance angle is just right).All in all, the three books are a thoroughly enjoyable read, and I hope the author will write more books in this serries.
review 2: O MY GOODNESS this book is sooo good that I bought it on my Kindle Fire! I love this book. Its about this 15-year-old who ,after bartering her freedom for a pair of strange blue slippers, tries to make her way through life while being one of the top seamstress in the kings seat. But an evil force has practicly frozen the kingdom and Creels slippers may have something to do w/ it... Along the way she meets dragons, cripples, and even the royal family!
