The Coincidence
review 1: Jessica Sorensen is quickly becoming the queen of cliffhangers. My heart is still racing at the revelations Violet and Luke are faced with at the end of this book. Angst is the one word I would use to describe this story. Neither are in a good place when this story starts and it makes for a lot of self loathing and destructive behavior. Jessica made their pain tangible. There were times when I swear I could feel the tightness in my chest or the anxiety flowing through me as Luke and Violet faced down their demons. I couldn’t stop reading, waiting for the moment when the sadness would lessen and some relief would seep in. The vulnerability, strength and personal growth Jessica orchestrates for Violet and Luke is absolutely beautiful, forcing me to let these characters ste... moreal a little more of my heart along the way.The mystery and suspense of the storyline gets kicked up several notches in this book. Just when I thought things couldn’t get more tangled, a new event would throw everything into chaos once again. We finally get a couple answers but in exchange we’re given several more pressing questions that threaten to alter everything Luke and Violet know and love. I’m certain I will be immediately starting the next book because there is no way I can wait to find out where this story is headed. I’m too attached to Violet and Luke and too invested in their happily ever after. The Probability of Violet & Luke told a part of their story that was earth shattering, heart wrenching and undoubtedly thrilling. This is going to be one heck of a book hangover.
review 2: 4 Star Review by Jen Skewes Honestly going into this book I was not sure what to expect. When we last left off Violet and Luke were not in a good place. I was afraid of what would happen with Violet leaving and going back to live with Preston. So afraid of what would happen between her and Luke. These two have been through so much heartache and pain that I just wanted to see them be happy. They deserved to be happy and deserved to find love with each other. I didn't think that my heart could break for these two any more than it did in the first book, but it did. And as always Ms. Sorensen made me feel that hurt and pain right along with these two broken characters.Violet and Luke found a happy place with each other. A place that they honestly probably never felt in their life. But when they discovered that they had more of a connection than they could ever imagined things between them became very complicated, causing Violet to run. It's been two months and Violet has gone back to living with Preston. Doing things that she is not happy or proud of, but what needs to be done in order to survive. It's her only way, or so she thinks.Luke is back to his drinking and reckless ways. Getting into fights and just miserable without Violet. He knows that he needs to stay away from her and give her the space she needs. But it's so hard when he still has feelings for her, he wants to be near her, touch her, feel her. He was in a good place with her and now he is back in his dark hole. But once again life or should I say destiny brings them back together. They are both stuck in a very difficult situation and take off together to try and work it out. They start to reconnect and they both realize just how much they missed each other, how much they need each other and perhaps love each other. But not everything is perfect for the two of them and they still face obstacles along the way. But you can only hope that for the two of them that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This book was a quick read and one that I devoured in one sitting. I love Luke and Violet and feel so heart broken for them. They were both dealt shitty hands and feel that they are so unworthy of happiness. But we start to see the grow more in this one, emotionally. Violet starts opening up more and they both learn how to ask for help. I loved how protective Luke is over Violet and how much he wants to be there for him. Despite his own issues in life he cared for her and wanted to be there. I also loved the role that Luke's father played in this book. It is nice to see someone else take care of and love him like a parent should. Luke and Violet have had a tough life and continue to deal with the hand that life has dealt them. If anyone deserves to be happy it s certainly these two. I felt their pain and seeing more of what they went through will break you heart. I hope to see them find their happiness in the next installment! less
