review 1: Meh. I think I went into it with expectations that were just far too high. I didn't get into the plot as much as I thought I would, and I found little things here and there that were so unbelievable. It just irked me a bit. It's not a bad read at all, but it just didn't have enough to make it up to a 4 or 5 rating. Still definitely going to read Vol.3 regardless(I trekked halfway across the city for it!!! Thanks for nothing Toronto Public Library...).
review 2: They're still clearly finding their legs in this second collection. The blackmail plot point is overwrought, and the artist change shifts the imagery more towards silly and farther from creepy. From a storytelling perspective, the temporal shifts and flashbacks distance the reader and bleed off tension. ... moreNot nearly as awesome a horror book as the first.
