review 1: A step down from the first volume in every way, which is inevitable considering how good it is but still disappointing. The diverse and fascinating art is less varies and intense and more homogenous, which isn't necessarily bad. The inventive art, however, is replaced with confusing arrangement and some muddy frames. The ghost and monster plot is still great, but the characterization is less fluid and powerful. Kate is still my favorite character but this was far less oriented towards her life and identity and more just straight action. Not bad but not amazing.
review 2: This one has a nice art style. It almost seems softer than the first volume. The story jumps all over the place by being in different people's perspectives. I actually found it to be more en
... moregaging this way. Or at the very leat it seemed like a lot was happening. We learn more about Maggie in this one and we get closer to the main villain - although we have yet to see her or know her true plan.Couldn't put this one down and I can't wait to get the next one to read! If you haven't started this series you should - it's worth it! less

It's Batwoman meets X-files. With lesbians. Definitely not for the young kinds.

Chaotic, but beautifully narrated. This is a volume you shouldn't put down.

Such a great comic. This is by far the best of the new 52.
