review 1: Okay, this book was kind of a hot mess! I love the idea of the hero and heroine having to run away from roofless killers! It can really give the story a lot of depth, action, and spirit. Unfortunately, it did not work out that way for this book. The heroin was really annoying. She was frustrating to deal with, and she really felt like she was dumb as a post. The hero was not much better! He too was frustrating, and he did not tell the heroin everything that she needed to know. Therefore, there was a great deal of distrust. The entire story felt as though it was very disjointed. It was a very difficult read for me. I did not buy the romance at all in this book. It felt as though it was very forced. The conflict was forced, the sexual situations were forced, and the need for ... morethem to have some sort of connection that what was on an emotional level also seemed extremely forced. All of those things combined with the incredibly strange sexual situations that happened in this book make it a two star for me. It was so annoying! I could not believe for example, that the hero and heroine decided that they should have sex in the jungle while being pursued by two if this killers. They were exposed, and they had sex against a rock. Okay, so it was a Rockycliff. Or maybe it was made out of stone. At any rate, it seems to be extremely painful! Then there were the decisions that both of them made that seemed incredibly stupid. The hero did a lot of things and made a lot of decisions that did not seem as though it were in keeping with his special forces background. Sex against the cliff during the daytime while the heroin is screaming to hero's name is not a recipe for being able to be a stealth ninja! As I said before, it felt very forced and really kind of weird. I know that I tend to over analyze books sometimes, but really this was a huge brick to the face! Then, there was the sex in a crate in a cargo plane! It seems weird to me that the heroin was worried about sex in a pool, when she was more than willing to have sex everywhere else.Be that as it may, there was a part of the story that kept me reading for more. I think that maybe it was just this year what in the world factor! But, I did feel some investment for the outcome of the hero and heroine's story. Again, this story felt very disjointed and frustrating. Unfortunately, there is only so much belief that I am willing to suspend. The resolution of the conflict to this story also felt forced. The villain seemed very cartoonish! It all just seemed like a bunch of scenes that were kind of stuck together and without a good deal of Segway. And it needed a lot of Segway!I am willing to try another book by this author to see if the writing style is the same. As I said before, I love action and suspense. But I need my characters to be a little more thoughtful about the choices that they make. I also need them to be a little more caring about The fact that there are crazed killers after them. There were also a lot of really contrived plot points. At least to me.I wish that I would like this book more than I did. circumstances the city
review 2: received arc copy for review.this is the second book I have read in this series, even though it is the third book in the series. I will read book one. lolI enjoyed this book better because the bad guys was less obvious. Of course Ethan was a partially developed character from the previous book and by what I gather from book one also. when authors take the time to develop the characters throughout the series it makes it so much better. If you are person who loves action suspense and romance then you will enjoy the book. less
