review 1: Most importantly, read the first book before this one, and refresh your memory of it if you read it a while ago as this story refers to it quite a lot. This is a pretty good zombie story and kept my interest, but I have a couple of issues with it. Firstly, the diary format is fine but the way it's written is necessary to tell the story but not particularly like a real diary would read. Secondly, as the story progresses it begins to enter some dangerous territory - unzombie-like zombies and shadowy sinister organisations that don't really have much of a place in a survival story. That said, there are some original ideas that aren't outright stupid, which isn't easy in zombie fiction.Definitely worth reading, and I'll buy the next one too. This book certainly leaves the endi... moreng open for another sequel.
review 2: La trama potrebbe essere anche abbastanza accettabile se non fosse per tutta la parte 'militare' in cui l'autore descrive le armi e i vari reparti dell'esercito usando preferibilmente acronimi a me completamente ignoti e completamente noiosi. Certo averlo letto in lingua originale non ha aiutato. E' anche formidabile la completa incapacità dell'autore di affrontare i sentimenti e le interazioni umane. Alla fine del libro c'è un risvolto talmente sbalorditivo (quanto a mio avviso inutile) che rende inevitabile il seguito. less
