review 1: Pray for Dawn is the fourth in the Dark Days series about vampires, well, mostly vampires. As with its predecessors, it is entertaining enough for me to finish out the series, mostly because I am waiting to read about the two main characters hooking up. You get a little preview in Pray for Dawn, but no more.One of my biggest critiques of this series is that it feels as if Drake is trying so hard to prove that female authors are capable of writing a good fight scene. Unfortunately, she overdoes it in my opinion. There are so many fight scenes that I got bored. Less fighting! More sex!In all honesty, I think the Dark Days series will be enjoyed by those readers who love everything vampire whereas occasional readers of the vampire sub-genre are probably less likely to enjoy i... moret. In my opinion, it is okay, hence the 3-star rating.
review 2: I really didn't care for this book. I was disappointed to see the point of view switched to Dananus. He is infinitely less interesting compared to Mira, but I understand the change. Also, I felt like I read Dananus' and Mira's histories over and over again. The reader should remember by book 4 what has happened. Don't tell me the same information in every chapter, please! There wasn't a lot of action either. There was a lot of running around and I was bored. Hope the next book is better... less
