review 1: This is one of my favorite books from the Whispering Mountain series. While the book has it's typical damsel-in-distress, it doesn't focus too heavily on it. It also isn't a romance book of love-at-first-sight, which is a nice change. I find characters and stories much more interesting when they actually try to build a relationship rather than just describe how much they are in love. Bethie and Andrew are very likable, and I had a few laugh-out-loud moments with it. It's a great story with adventure and romance!This series has a lot of stories that include "taking in strays", and this one is no exception. Bethie and Andrew end up with some side-character kids that they take in for a little while. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and this time I didn't really care ... morefor the kids they found.
review 2: Both my Mom and I read Jodi Thomas (her more than me). This is part of Ms. Thomas's "Whispering Mountain" series. We both enjoyed the book, it's a sweet Western romance set in Texas (where else). It's the story of the "baby" of the family Beth and how she finds her other half and boy, let me tell you she has to work at it too.. We enjoyed visiting with the other characters from the other books in this series. less
