review 1: Wait, reviewers I followed didn't like this? What? It's true it's pretty cheesy, but it's comic book cheese, it's good cheese, it's there's a scary-sexy-cryptkeeper lady in the well cheesy! It's madness and ghosts scary! It's psychopathic scar-faced teenager cheesy! It's twisted Casper the Friendly Ghost scary! It has a great "weird doors" gimmick that may yield more fun! It's a lot of fun, just suspenseful enough, and has potential for a lot more fun in volumes to come. I will say that the illustrations are a bit too goofy-sixties-kids painting-y, but I got over it, and it was creepy in its own way. So yep. Worth a read. Will get around to future volumes soon enough -it's a testament to the effective fun of this that I want to do so.
review 2: When Tyler stumb
... moreles upon his father being murdered, he takes action and turns into a killer himself. Despite his desperate situation, he can't help but have guilt over the circumstances. After the funeral, Tyler, his 2 siblings, and mother leave town to live with an uncle in a home called Lovecraft and find their new lives to be an adjustment. Bode, the young brother, figures out how to turn himself into a ghost while Kinsey, Tyler's sister is still haunted by the part she played in keeping herself and Bode quiet during the murders. Also, Lovecraft has secrets of it's own. A great first book in the series! less

I think comics are a MUCH better medium for Hill than novels. I enjoyed this a lot.
