review 1: Much needed backstory (okay, not really, a good story never requires every detail to be made known) but my guess about the entity possessing Dodge was totally off so it's good to have the correction. We follow Tyler and Kinsey as they, in turn, follow the events of the past, starting first with the creation of the Keys, and then what-all their father got up to. A needed break in pacing before the final volume.
review 2: Brilliant. Just brilliant. Volume 5 pushes the series as a whole to 5 stars. ... morell leaving us breathless for the last stretch. The origin of the keys, the events between Rendell and his friends, the hanging plot points. Everything works. Particular praise to the horrific climax at the Black Door (which in my mind recalled the dynamic in IT). Rodriguez continues to shine, crafting wonderful imagery, dynamic storytelling, flow and some great layouts. All told, this has been an excellent ride and there's one final part left. And they only have 2 for the whole city at the library?! Arghhh.Fans of anything - read it now! less

This is the book in the series that makes you want to start it over from the beginning.

This is by far the best volume of the series. I really like where the story has gone.
