review 1: This 3rd volume was just as good as the first two. It makes me happy to know I'm so invested in the story. This story was just as messed up as the last ones. The third key was super creepy. I liked what it unlocked but not who unlocked it. (It's hard to review this book without giving too much away) Kinsley's new friends are pretty funny. I'm glad she is coming out of her shell, but the adventurous side makes me a little nervous. The drunk mom makes me very sad. All the hurt she is trying to cover up.Then there is Bode and his big brother....they are just trying to keep the family together the eldest child and the baby.Overall, I think I like this series so much because the characters are so real. It's all a fictitious setting but with real emotions. Crown of Shadows also... more revealed two other keys which did some pretty wicked stuff. Can't wait to find out what happens next.
review 2: I started on this series kind of late because I was worried it would not be my thing, and the first two volumes were awesome enough for me to overlook that. The character development in those was solid, the dialogue was good and the story intriguing. It's still intriguing here, I spose, if you're interested in this kind of fantasy to begin with, but if you're stretching yourself, the bad art (digital, poorly colored) and the worsening dialogue become harder to ignore. I may pick up the fourth volume at some point, but this just wasn't a favorite series for me. less

I love this creepy series. I know I'm late to the party, but I'm enjoying the catch up.
