The Testing
review 1: Dystopian novels are becoming more and more popular nowadays. This book was very interesting to read and encouraged me to keep reading in order to find out what was going to happen next. The story begins with a young teenage girl named Cia that has just graduated from her school in her colony. On graduation day, Cia is hoping to be chosen to participate in the testing to be given the opportunity to study in the university. Cia finds out that she and three other of her classmates have been chosen for the testing. Before Cia leaves her family and her colony, her father's biggest piece of advice is to not trust anyone. A big motif that the novel places emphasis on is trust vs. mistrust. The novel focuses on Cia's experience throughout the testing and how that affects her. The ... morenovel ends with a cliffhanger that makes me want to read the next book of the trilogy. This book was very well-written and I would recommend it to most readers of any age, especially readers that enjoy dystopian novels.
review 2: Audiobook. I found the audiobook narrator kind of annoying. The book itself seemed like a Hunger Games Lite and not super interesting. You pretty much saw everything coming (although near the end the person who betrays her isn't the one I expect it to be, but the one I suspected did actually betray one of their mutual friends and kept it quiet). Plus, it continues on to the next phase of life after "The Testing" and then just suddenly ends. We're listening to the next one in the series mainly b/c of a lack of other options. less

hey
An OK read maybe the next instalment will be a big improvement but for now I'm just unsure of it.
