review 1: Entertaining by somewhat unfulfilling. It was fun to be back with Will and back into adventures, however much of it felt a lot like the first Ranger's Apprentice book, many of the same exercises that he did, the novelty of learning about Ranger training was no longer there. Once the mission started, it was much more interesting and entertaining. All in all, a decent addition to the series, not the best addition, but not the worst either.
review 2: I think this book was an unnecessary addition to the Ranger's Apprentice series. The narrative was mainly from Maddie's POV and there was little of the Will we all know and love. It felt very reminiscent of the first book but without as much action and interesting characters. Overall it was fine - a good read but I wi
