review 1: I really enjoyed this book. Flanangan did an excellent job of really pulling you in and making you "laugh and cry" with the characters. He did a good job with the plot being the same the whole time, but still keeping it very interesting. One of the things that I personally liked about it is that it was realistic. It wasn't very likely to happen but it could have. His first few books kind of bothered me because they were fantasy. There is some friction between Alyss and Cassandra that was a little bit immature that could have been cut out. Besides that he put in the perfect amount of detail, and background information. IT was very action packed, and was a "must read"
review 2: I was very satisfied with this great ending to a fantastic series. I say this every t
... moreime talking about these books. This last book of the series really capped off and showed again just how great of an author John Flanagan is.Every chapter got more and more intense, and more captivating. I wanted to just keep reading on and on. So many suspenseful moments like when Horace and the Emperor barely escape Arisaka and his men (Rebellious Warlord, Antagonist in the story). It is great when Will and Halt also finally go to aid Nihon-Ja. John Flanagan again also gives so many more reasons to love Horace, Will, and Halt. Great book, and a great series. less
