review 1: Amazingly fun book about a man named Tony Chu. A law officer who is a “Cibopathic” meaning he gets psychic impressions when he takes a bite out of something living or dead. The comic starts with showing a scene of a chief preparing a soup and cutting himself. Following this Tony Chu is introduced with an explanation of his powers and how the only thing he can eat without getting sensations are beets. John Colby is introduced as Tony’s partner and shows that they are on a stakeout to catch people buying chicken. (Which the FDA made illegal to buy because of an avian flu scare) Tony almost arrests his brother for purchasing chicken but they catch sight of a kingpin that they want more so they get ready to bust the joint to get him. As they are headed in they are stoppe... mored by an FDA agent who tells them that the guy they are going after is under their protection, offering them a chicken dinner at the government’s expense to stay off their guy. When inside Tony is forced to order the chicken soup because his aversion to food that isn’t beets. Upon tasting the soup he finds out that the cook who cut himself is actually a serial killer who kills and eats women. They go to arrest him but John takes a knife to the face and Tony faces down the cook, who to avoid going back into police custody cuts his own throat and bleeds out. Tony in his desire to find out who the cook had killed starts eating the cooks’ face, which is where two cops find him. This would have been the end of his role in law enforcement but the FDA agent transfers him into their department.Throughout this comic I was constantly entertained with new and interesting concepts and ideas which made the reading a lot of fun. I would recommend this for people with dark humor and enjoyment of the weird and different.
review 2: I borrowed the first three volumes of this from a friend quite awhile ago and just now got around to starting it. The illustration style took a little getting used to for me--sometimes it seems really clever and amusing, but other times it feels awkward somehow. But anyway, the story is fun and interesting enough to compensate for the times the art perplexes me. I like Tony Chu a lot, and I really enjoy his relationship with his partner as well. Glad I finally gave it a try! less

Yaratıcı ve eğlenceli(çoğunlukla), bitirmeden elden bırakmak zor.

Layman's concept is odd and unique, and he pulls it off swimmingly.
