review 1: You cannot not like POYO.I really don't like how they portray Amelia Mintz as the whiny girlfriend in this book. She appeared to be an independent woman in the previous novels and she has her career as a writer. We hardly see them interacting in their relationships but when we do she is upset because he has to go to work. It's just too cliche for me to accept coming from this book series where everyone seems to take all their careers seriously even if Agent Chu "hates" his job. We get to learn more about Chu's past and about his family. It was a nice change of pace that continues to integrate pretty well into the next novel. I wasn't expecting the plot twist at the end, but it made me ask the question. How old is Chu? I wasn't expecting him to be that old, *no spoilers*. I... moret doesn't change my point of view of the story but I think it adds more too it for me. I'm used to reading books about young adults so this is a nice change of pace.
review 2: I quite liked the first two issues of this book, nice and funny. All-in-all, some of the disparate plot elements are coming together more concretely now. I wonder if all USDA agents will be massive-breasted red-heads with small technologically-enhanced animal sidekicks? Fricken and Pulp Fiction references are nice, and there are still more typos such as "I, er, need to you to sign off on this." Author continues to mess with traditional formats, Chu's ex is a great character, Mason Savoy makes a new appearance. less
