review 1: One of the best comicbook series I've read, the concept itself is one of a kind. A police procedural mix with the weird and supernatural, as the main character can tell where or what's behind the stuff he eats, called Cibopathy. This volume is a great intro to the series, setting up the characters and future storylines. I like Rob Guillory's art which has great execution of panels and facial expression, the design of the characters superb. I am no fan of realistic '90's comicbook artwork anymore and lately into similar works like Guillory's.If you had read Powers or into CSI tvshow mix with Supernatural this book is for you.

... mores my job, for the good of humanity, etc. Good thing I'm not a cibopath, like Tony Chu, for whom the sense of taste triggers visions of the life and last moments of the food he's eaten. Except beets, for some reason. So, he works for the FDA (who gained a lot of power since chicken meat was outlawed after a mysterious avian flu), munching on murder victims and bad guys to solve meat mysteries.I loved the grossness, it was perfectly effective. The last time I was this grossed out was when Mary Roach wrote about fecal transplants. less

This book is even weirder than you would think but it's entertaining and well plotted.

Absolutely brilliant! It's political, satirical, funny, dark, gross and just great!
