review 1: Short and sweet. After briefly defining risk, Piper shows how the biblical characters are forced to take risks and how God purposefully puts us in situations where taking risks is the only appropriate response. Although the book is interesting by the very nature of its subject and well founded in the scriptures, practical examples demonstrating risks in daily situations are lacking; even though this may be due to space limitations, any reader would have found it helpful to know how to better act on the biblical truth Piper demonstrates. Overall, a very good booklet which provokes Christians to think outside of the 'security box'.
review 2: To say I have finished this book is probably not quite right as I suspect it will be one I will re-read again ... and again
... more.John Piper is re-iterating what has been stated many times in the past by many evangelicals in the Christian faith. He places it in a modern context and lays down the challenge to those who understand that Christianity is more than just attending Church on Sunday and House Group mid-week...Very firmly he gives voice to the argument that if you are a believer in the power and promise of the Gospel..then why would you want to keep it to your self...take a risk..share the good news with anyone and everyone less
