review 1: Valiant is doing the best at producing high quality reads out of all the other publishers. Harbinger a tense and dramatic story about psychics has to be one of the best I've read in years. It isn't really until the second volume that the series goes to five stars, but the promise is hear, and the build up is worth it. I am amazed that the writer is able to tell such a complicated story in such a streamlined and evocative way. If you love psychics, intrigue, and moral issues about power and responsibility, this is the book for you! And then there is Faith, my new favorite superhero, an overweight superfan nerd that gets the power to fly. I wouldn't miss a volume of this totally entertaining series.
review 2: Reminds me of a teenage Irredeemable. Which is a compl
... moreiment as I rather enjoy that series also. It's a typical story about an angsty teenager that had a bad upbringing between bullying and institutionalization. Has to figure out if he's going to use his powers for good or evil. The thing that I like and am looking forward to in the next compilation is that there isn't really good or evil but a messy grayness of morality. Also looking forward to more character development as so far the characters are becoming pretty intriguing. less

I don't love the art, but I'm finding the storyline pretty engaging.

A fairly creditable attempt to do the American Akira.
