review 1: I'm not gonna lie, I cried. This series just gets me everytime I read it. This would probably the epilogue 3 of each book which is kind of hilarious. Who would have thought that Julia Quinn can sum up more epilogues? Now to mama Violet. I could probably wring my hanky and get a bucket full of tears (and also with Lucy's/Gregory's heartbreaking delivery) because come on, a short-lived romance is really heartbreaking. I'm still thinking who is that mystery guy Violet danced with. Although I'm pretty sure it is Benedict. Anyways, I thought a better ending (for me anyway) is killing Violet's character. Morbid? Yes, but I think she deserves to be with Mr. (the original, though not really) Bridgerton.
review 2: I think it was a nice end for the series, we saw how tha... moret incredibly large family turned out to be (although I would have liked to see the story of Anthony and Kate taken to their old ages, since JQ said he'd live to be 92) and we got to know Edmund. That, to me, was painful because throughout the saga you see him there like an ethereal presence, someone you know by what the others say about him, and you like him, but you don't really know him (readers, on that point, are like Hyacinth). Knowing him in this short story was painful because we knew the happy and centered man he was and couldn't have the life he wanted due to his sudden death. He was a wonderful man who would have been a wonderful grandfather, and he'd have aged with Violet. I also loved to see Violet was as great as a girl like she was as a mature woman.Now that I've read all the Bridgerton series, I miss them like crazy. It's a pity it's over... but I'll always have rereads :) less
