review 1: This children’s book, by Julia Rawlinson, is all about a very confused fox who thinks that it has just started snowing in the spring. He was playing in the orchard when he looked up and saw white everywhere. He quickly went home to tell all his friends that they better start planning for winter right away because it has come early this year. He ends up going to tell the birds, the porcupine, the bunnies and the squirrel and everyone is worried because they have lots of planning to do and they have hardly any time. Before everyone gets down to business they tell Fletcher—the fox—that they want to go play in the snow, but when they get there they find out that Fletcher was very wrong. Come to find out, the Blossom trees were losing all their buds, which meant that the ... morewhite stuff all over the ground wasn’t snow at all. All the animals were thrilled, since winter wasn’t here already. This was not my favorite book ever, it was way too repetitive and I didn’t particularly find the word choice to be very catchy. The illustrations were my favorite part of this book.
review 2: Fletcher the fox is happy that spring is here. "The woods were full of the chirping, bustling, singsong sounds of spring." Fletcher tumbles happily down the hill into the sunny orchard only to find - snow flakes! Fletcher tells all the other animals that are preparing for spring about the snow, but soon finds out he was mistaken. Sweet pastel illustrations and lots of descriptive adjectives make this a good springtime book to read to toddlers. less
