review 1: I loved book 2 and 3 of this series. My real rating would be closer to a 3 1/2 for this book, because it seemed to drag until the end. I gave it 4 stars because I love the story and characters. Too much analysing of everyone's emotion and not enough action. I actually found myself rolling my eyes a LOT. I felt forced to finish the book and almost gave up on it. I 'm glad I didn't because it finnaly picked up and got better. This series will have 6 books. The last one is scheduled to be released in Oct 2013. I think I'll wait until the whole series is finished before I read any more of this series. This book could have been easily shortened and combined with the next book.
review 2: “Winter’s Warrior,” Book 4 of the Winter’s Saga, is as beautifully im
... moreagined and fast-paced as you could hope for. The book starts with Margo’s aborted rescue of her children from the hospital/fortress they’d broken into in order to rescue Alik and Meg from the hands of Dr. Williams, who truly reveals himself to be an evil monster.Book 4 puts you in a front-row seat for the family’s next adventure. Sweet tender scenes between Meg and Creed, and Margo’s frightening brush with death, the wonder of Danny, the newest addition to the family, once left for dead in a hospital bed, and the charming interactions between family members give the series its touching humanity amidst the kick-ass action.Especially poignant are Margo’s anguish and the staunch presence of Maze, the pet coyote, along with wonderfully described passages of sibling rivalry and deep-seated love of family. The dialogue crackles and sparkles. Meg tells Creed, “You make me feel beautiful and adored even when I haven’t showered, and I look like three-day-old road kill on a hot Texas highway.”The jaw-dropping cliff-hanger ending will make you impatient for the next installment of the saga. Highly recommended! less
