review 1: Book 4 of "The Fever Series" is explosive!!!There is so much going on in this book, that you don't know whether your coming or going. You want to fight and help MacKayla but at the same time you want to run for your life. The question is, where would you run to? Of hide? The wall is definitely down (Between Our World and The Unseelie Works) about 1/3  or even more of the human population has been completely wiped out of existence and for the sidhe seers there are only 2 weapons at the moment totally capable of killing the Unseelie.MacKayla is quickly learning that her life in Georgia was not her real life, her true life was being born of a powerful sidhe seer who had to give her and her sister up to keep them safe. They were adopted by a wonderful couple but they has to ... moreagree that they never allow the girls to return to Ireland for any reason. That promise was broken when Alina went to Ireland to study abroad and was killed, what happened next was an unfolding of events that neither Mac who went to Ireland to find her sister's killer or her parents could imagine. Things that shouldn't have been real but appear only in folklore stories are very real. There is a war raging of good versus evil, everything that Mac has ever known and loved could all be lost if MacKayla and the people she has met along the way don't find answers of restoring order and finally ridding the world of all Unseelie and sending them back to their eternal prisons.Jericho Barron's and the 8...Who are they? What are they? And how is it that they seem to be able with just one look send their enemies scurrying for cover.  So many secrets and the hunt for the Sinsar Dubh the Dark Hallow authored by the Dark King of the Unseelie, is a horrible book that when an unsuspecting or suspecting victim touches it, the immediately become possessed by it and murderous, slaughtering all and then eventually themselves. MacKayla and Jericho have been hunting this book, but for Mac it repels and practically tries to kill her until one night she came face to face with it and what happens next neither she knows or Barron's it was enough to know that it will not be so easy to capture it.MacKayla has definitely been changed from the inside out, she has been brutally assaulted (that would change anyone), have been brought back from the brink of sheer destruction and death and like a Phoenix raising itself from the ashes, Mac has been reborn and coming into the power that she is a true Sidhe Seer. But it comes with a powerful cost and loss and the question is will she survive? Will more secrets be revealed about her powerful lineage? And what really happened to Alina and her biological mother?Book 5 is next "ShadowFever"Well Until My Next Review Ciao Bellas!
review 2: Still don't think the ending of book 3 in this series (Faefever) was necessary as a plot device, and the 'cure' for Mac's trauma in this book was most definitely off. I did not like the Barrons/Mac dynamic at all, but the book got considerably better as it went on. I think a lot of books in this genre (urban fantasy) can be quite imitative, and I have started a few only to give up and put them aside, but this series is creative, engaging and suspenseful and I was completely engrossed by the time I got to the cliffhanger ending, and am looking forward to the next. Three and a half stars, rounded up to four for now. less
