review 1: Actual Rating: 3.5 stars (but leaning more towards 4 than 3). WARNING "SPOILERS"This is my favourite book in the series to date. In most books, you get the whole "if the lead character fails, then the walls between our dimension and the next dimension will fall apart and the good people of Earth will be destroyed". I have read this so many times and every time, without fail, the "good" guys win at the last minute and save the day. This is what I expected. Nope. Walls come down. 1/3 of Earth's population destroyed. Mac (lead character) tortured through hell and back. Wow! LOVE IT. Love being surprised by an author and it is so rare these days.I love the greyness of the characters and that who is good and who is bad is blurred. Like Mac, the reader has no idea who to tru... morest or not to trust. There is a whole string of mean-ass unseelie fae that make your skin crawl and lots of moving in and out of different dimensions. Love where this series is going. Love the cliffhanger ending. Love that you spend the whole time trying to work out who (or what) Barrons is (have a few ideas). It is so rare in this genre to be surprised and so I am happy.Only pet peeve I have is that I found the Dani bits really annoying. This is an adult series, and bringing in a teenage girl character (with her dude speak) just lessens the impact. The whole time I am reading this it has the feeling that Dani is nothing more than a new introduced character for the author to have a spin-off. A bit over it and this book would have been all the stronger (especially given how much more edgy Mac has become) without the teenage angst.
review 2: Je suis LÉGÈREMENT obsédée et je n'arrive pas à m'arrêter de lire mais j'ai trop de questions et de problèmes non résolus qui traînent depuis le premier tome dont je VEUX les réponses et pourtant, même avec cette frustration constante, ce tome était juste génial ! Par contre LA FIN de ce tome je suis juste pas bien du tout je vais commencer le 5 tout de suite maintenant car c'est juste pas possible de finir sur les PIRES CLIFFHANGERS AU MONDE less
