review 1: It's done. Over. And I loved every minute of Mac's journey. These books are incredible, but I have to say... the ending was just a bit meh. I loved it, don't get me wrong... but Shadowfever kind of dragged on and on for me. I feel it seriously could've been made into two books, and would've been just as good if not better. The one thing that bothered me was all the questions. I skipped over every damn little question Mac asked herself and still understood the storyline; I just don't think they were needed as often as Ms. Moning added them. But anyways, I'm satisfied enough with the ending. I absolutely adore this series and I'm SO glad I read them, but now I'm gonna read some fluffy chick-lit after all this doom-and-gloom ;)
review 2: I have had bad luck the la... morest few months with series totally flaming out on me. This series really needed to be a trilogy rather than a pentalogy. By book four and especially book five there were fewer and fewer things I liked about these books, the flaws became more obnoxious, and it became increasingly obvious that there wasn't enough plot to sustain five books. Even at its best the Fever series is cheesy and superficial and my quibbles with Moning's writing just eventually overwhelmed my interest in her plot, mythology, and Mac's journey. I read a little under half of this book before packing it in. I know it is ridiculous to read almost 4.5 books in a 5 book series but I just groaned internally at the thought of continuing. I will google some spoilers to see how everything turns out. I hate Jericho Barrons with the fury of a thousand suns and his relationship with Mac. less
