review 1: I hadn't read the previous two books in this series, and maybe I ought to have. However, I had no idea this was even a three piece story before I picked it up, so that really wasn't an option. I never really fell into the story the way I normally do. The plotline was ridiculous, the characters what if scenarios gave me a headache. The romance was barely there, just going on the fact they were once in love, we have to believe it, and they're in love again the moment they set eyes on each other once more.I think I will read other books by this author, this one just didn't appeal to me.
review 2: I enjoyed this read. It was a nice wrap-up to the trilogy. However, this is not a good stand-alone, as characters from the first two books play important roles in this ... morebook. The first two are "Taming the Rake" and "A Midsummer Night's Sin". I liked how the hero and heroine were equally strong characters, but those strengths complimented each other while still having witty dialoge, and some tension as the story moves along. Overall, a good read, and a good series. less
