review 1: An amusing revenge story; Beau Blackthorn is seeking revenge against the Earl of Brean - when much younger the Earl had him beaten and thrown out for daring to court the Earl's sister because he is a bastard. What better revenge than marrying the Earl's other sister and tainting the whole family with his birth? Of course things don't go exactly to plan.This is a funny book, but still credible as plots go. My only quibble, which I have to forgive because I enjoyed the book so much, is the heroine's name: Chelsea. It really won't do, you know. Other than that, I liked it so much I shall read the other three books in the series. Even if I have to pay for them.
review 2: I enjoyed this and the antics on the way to Gretna Green, or Coldstone actually. But the ... morediversions and things made the trip feel much longer than it should have been. The worst part is that Chelsea's brilliance, and ability to plan reaches just below perfect ingenue level.But still an enjoyable read and there's a good story between Chelsea and Oliver. Also the interplay between Oliver and his brothers is great. less
