review 1: I'm not at all a fan of the comic style in this collection...It feels to mangaish for me. There were a few moments that was special to someone who's read and enjoyed the Runaways so far. Though the plot is slightly messy at times I do like what the writer has done with the kids. She's portraying them as what they are kids. Which I like I think sometimes in the series this was overseen a bit and sometimes forgotten. It was nice to see them being kids. From what I've read so far I like it. Truth is it's been standing in my bookshelf for over a year, but I still haven't been able to make myself finish it. It would kind of make it so final. I'm not sure I'll ever finish it. That way I can still pretend the comic hasn't been discontinued.
review 2: The series has pi
... morecked up with this volume but still isn't as good as it was with volume 1-8. I want to pretend volume 9 & 10 didn't happen. Everything with Kiara, Hunter Stein, and the military felt random and pointless. Old Lace dying was definitely sad with the loss of Chase's last connection to Gert and basically our connection to the older volumes. Gert is the only character not tainted by the more recent volumes. I was so excited when I saw Gert on the first page! I've lost sympathy for the rest of the team. They've become whiny and frustrating. I'll keep reading this series if they keep making it, only because I enjoyed the earlier volumes so much. less
