review 1: Picking up from the last story, crazed DJ Val Rhymin finally figures out how to make the entirety of LA (or, the vast majority at least) into his own personal minions. With the help of a former connection of Nico's parents, Val works some major mojo on anyone in the city who has had plastic surgery. After returning from a team-building retreat in the desert, our Runaways have to figure out a way to stop Val.Following this short arc, the last issue in this collection involves Molly Hayes getting a tour of the San Francisco X-Facility as part of an attempted recruitment of any remaining mutants in the world (with only 200 left, the X-Men want to provide a safe haven). Her tour guide? Her least favorite (but former idol) X-Man, Wolverine. Of course, things go wrong when an ol... mored enemy of the Hayes returns seeking revenge by taking the life of their daughter. After that, the rest of the team relaxes with an interesting game of truth or dare. The Molly/Wolverine story is definitely the best of this book. Moore's arc with Val Rhymin was too short and resolved way too easily. It could have been much more involved than it was. I miss Vaughan's involvement with the book.
review 2: Well it would be impossible not to compare this story to those which came before it, and yes, this small volume is dwarfed in the shadow of Vaughan's original run. In fairness to the book though, the characters are handled extremely well, perfectly capturing what it means to be a teenager. The Rock Zombie story is a little goofy and not terribly powerful, but the dialogue and character interactions were very tight. Yost's Mollyfest Destiny story is charming, and Asmus's Truth or Dare was also a fun bonus, even if the stories were not at all connected, and didn't further the lingering plot sewn in volumes prior. It's also worth offering that every artist involved with this volume did a wonderful job illustrating the expressive cast. It's a shame that just because Miyazawa favored an eastern style on this book, that she gets so much flack for what were really some excellent pencils. Pichelli and Rios also offer up some great stylized work that I feel complimented the series. Rock Zombies isn't a must own, even for the Runaways fan, but it was delightfully colorful, and a joy to read some really excellent and fun dialogue. less

I really dug the zombie story, but the last issue was strange and very disjointed.

Eh, it was OK. The last story with Molly and Wolverine teaming up was funny.

Four stars because I liked the two stories that weren't by Terry Moore.

Molly and Wolverine together is classic.
