review 1: Emily and Navin are involved in Lucien's strange politics. They are searching for a beacon to fight the Elf King. Navin becomes the central character in this story. The history of Max is revealed. Secrets are found out. However the story goes on.I have not read any of the previous volumes, so I discovered that I now want to go back and start reading volumes 1 - 5. The artwork of vol. six is gorgeous. There is something about the story that reminds me of other stories I have read. I find this story refreshing and fast to read.Disclaimer: I received a digital galley of this book free from the publisher from NetGalley. I was not obliged to write a favourable review, or even any review at all. The opinions expressed are strictly my own.

... morehe Amulet series will not be disappointed with this newest installment. Emily and Navin are pulled even farther into this strange new world's politics and its fight against evil. The plot digs deeper into the history of Max and readers will appreciate learning all the particulars of his back story and how his past affects who he is today. Navin also becomes a more central figure to the story and this reader is pleasantly surprised by his role. Navin seemed not as important as Emily until this book. He might even have a little romance brewing. As usual the artwork is astounding and gorgeous. Even if the writing wasn't so epic, I would still read this book for the artwork. Every so often there is what I think of as the setting pages: a two page spread with no dialogue that depicts a new setting. These pages are simply beautiful and could be framed and put on a wall. This graphic novel is 200+ pages and yet it's still manages to feel like a quick read. I can't wait for the next one. I hope it doesn't take too long. less

Amulet #6 continues to follow the journey of the stone keepers and Navin. The book is filled with action and adventures to keep young audiences engaged. The illustrations are incredible and the color schemes are gorgeous; the book reads like a graphic novel, so it's not that long. This book is perfect for kids ages 7-9. The concept is so creative, it sort of feels like Lord of the Rings for young kids, so you know it will be good.Rating 4 out of 5Read@Book
