The Century Trilogy
review 1: I read these three books as one immense book, over three thousand pages long. This book as the second follows similar patterns to The Fall of Giants in that it follows the five families as they wend their ways through the English, Russian, German, Black and White American experiences. As a review of the Twentieth Century, this book begins to be more political. The knowledge of the author and his opinions about the presidents and major players in our world are more fixed and the judgment on each leader becomes clearer and clearer as the book moves toward the end of WW II and the trip into the Cold War and the end of the Twentieth Century, the subject of the third book.
review 2: 4 1/2 stars. Second in the trilogy, the story takes place between 1933 and 1948 in
... moreEurope, Russia, Great Britain, and America. The five interrelated families from Fall of Giants, the first book in the Century trilogy, face the rise and fall of the Third Reich, the Spanish Civil War, conflicts with the USSR and communism, atomic bombs, and the beginning of the cold war, as well as their personal relationships and issues. Well-researched and well-written. less

Excellent book, just as exciting as the first in the series.
