review 1: This has quickly become one of my all time favorite books. I picked it up because I was looking for a good mystery with interesting characters, and it certainly delivered. The characters' inner dialogue is believable, and the decisions they make seem plausible (as far as I know. I've not been in these sorts of situations.) The ending leaves you thinking, and while some say it ended disappointingly I thought it was realistic- things don't always tie up neatly at the end. I loved this book, and I'd definitely recommend it to teens who like murder mystery novels.(Also, was anyone else reminded of Twin Peaks when they read this book, or am I just a huge nerd who reads too far into things?)
review 2: Black Rabbit Summer is an amazing book. I would've never guessed s... moreome of things that happened since they were still only 16,17,18 and still in high school. For example: Pauly killing himself, Wes stabbing Eric, Eric being capable of doing such things, Stella blackmailing Eric and Wes, Lottie Noyce being a "fortune teller" and knowing key details (I don't trust her and I think she has something to do with what happened to Raymond),etc.the book is just wonderful. That is coming from a person who doesn't read often and since I actually finished the book that just says how good it was that it was actually able to grab my attention. It is a shame we don't get to know what happened to Raymond. There should definitely be a second book about it. I wonder were Kevin Brooks got the inspiration for this book and why he choose this ending and everything that happened in between. I just love this book :) less
