review 1: I think this book is a good read for Marvel fanatics and this is because Tony Stark's early life wasn't (in my knowledge) ever described. They divulge the secrets of Tony's parents and the secrets of his (twice) savior, 451. The theme in this book was hard to find, but I think the theme is get to know your friend before you trust him/her. Tony didn't do this with the technopathic, lying, killer robot, 451, who committed genocide for his own improvement. He also tricked Tony into being a weapon of mass murder that happened to work directly as expected for 451. My favorite character is, surprisingly, the killer robot 451, who did all the things I just described. This is because he wanted the heart of the Voldi, a sacred relic that keeps the Voldi invisible, enough t... moreo where he planned to get it for millennia.
review 2: The first volume of this series was pretty much the definition of mediocre; it was alright, but nothing special at all and certainly not how I would have launched a series. This book brings things up to a better level, with a storyline that ties into Avengers Vs. X-Men quite nicely, and then the beginning of the Secret Origin which is off to an interesting start if heavy on the flashbacks and not very heavy on the actual plot progression in the present. I do like 451 as a villain, he's very reminiscent of UNIT from Gillen's Uncanny X-Men and SWORD work. The drawback on this volume is once again Greg Land's absurd pornface characters in the Godkiller arc which is what stops this book going higher than 3 stars, whereas Dale Eaglesham's artwork is on another level in the Secret Origin arc. less
